According to Sheriff David Naquin during the last 24 hours the Sheriff’s Office responded to 31 complaints and reports the following arrests:


Phillip J. Encalade 26 yoa of 1926 West Homestead St., Morgan City was arrested on 3-16-2010 at 12:18 pm on warrants for Failure to Appear on the charge of Possession of Marijuana and Failure to Appear on the charges of Loud Music and Driving Under Suspension. Suspect was located in the courthouse, placed under arrest on warrants and booked into the parish jail with a $4500.00 bond at this time.


Jessica Foster 28 yoa of 232 Verdun Lane, Verdunville and Jessica Johnson 33 yoa of 853 Irish Bend Road, Franklin were arrested on 3-16-2010 at 7:31 pm for Disturbing the Peace by Fighting. Deputy was called to Clausen Road in Verdunville in reference a fight. Upon Deputy’s arrival several subjects were located in the roadway arguing. Deputy made contact with the two suspects and learned that they were involved in an argument that ensued into a fight. After investigation, both suspects were placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $250.00 bond and were later released.


Kerry W. Sons Jr. 18 yoa of 629 Seventy Nine Pines Lane, Bayou Vista was arrested on 3-17-2010 at 12:26 am for Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Hit and Run Driving and warrants for nine counts of Issuing Worthless Checks. Deputy was patrolling the Bayou Vista area, when he was advised of a hit and run accident at the Burger King restaurant. While enroute to accident suspect vehicle was located on Hwy 182 and Mars St.and a traffic stop was conducted. During investigation it was learned that suspect was at the Burger King Restaurant, when he was unable to stop his vehicle and it ran into the fence and building at Oceaneering. During investigation it was also learned of warrants for suspect’s arrest. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $4250.00 bond at this time.
