Hope he flushes this game. But think he should be practicing his snaps in the rain for the remainder of the season to gain confidence....

Napier kept freshman backup at home due to travel sq limit. Emergency backup is a linebacker with limited exp. Decisions for next two games??

Maybe it is a sign of oncoming old age. However, my thoughts on the kid were sympathy for him. While most would want to chew his butt, that would not accomplish much right now. Yes, you want to hold him accountable but the best approach would be to have him work hard on his craft extra hard during practice, encourage him while doing so, and provide firm but pointed feedback when needed. Think how you would feel if that were your son. Going forward, I think weather determines if someone else gets a chance next game. That had not been an issue prior to last night. Just like a free throw shooter in basketball may get some mental jitters for awhile, Boudreaux's issue were mental and he was pressing throughout the night.

He has obviously been in the weight room and his brain has not caught up to how strong his arm is now.

I bet he doesn't make that mistake again.

To liken him to a free throw shooter is to say a guy who normally shoots free throws at a 95% clip all of suddenly is shooting the ball over the damn backboard & into the crowd. Man, forget about getting down the field & tackling anybody. Just aim for the punter's gut & get the ball there. Nobody cares if you even go down field, or block anyone. Just aim & shoot. PERIOD. He should have been on the sidelines every time UL had the ball practicing & getting some of the adrenaline worked out of him. I don't feel sorry for him. And if he feels sorry for himself that's the wrong way to look at it. His team needs him to produce like he has all season & he needs to suck it the hell up & fix his problem if he's gonna suit up the rest of the season.

I don't thionk they're mutually exclusive. You can, and I do, both feel sorry for him and hope that he gets it together. He's a twenty year old kid for gosh sakes who is ding this for the love of the game and his teammates.

I thought Napier's response was just right. You chew somebody's ___ for lack of effort or dumb ___ personal fouls like hitting out of bounds. Chewing this guy's ___ would have just made him more unsure of himself.

I think Napier is going to put him on a practice field with the sprinklers on high for the next two weeks
