Iowa state was obviously an impressive win that most are writing off as a fluke. UAB win has lost some luster because they haven’t played much. Nothing we’ve done in the conference is all that impressive.

I want to be ranked high like everyone else here but I understand why we are where we are. Iowa state has a hand full of quality wins. Just because we beat them doesn’t mean we get credit for those wins. We have 1.5 quality
wins 1 quality loss
ISU has 5 quality wins
2 quality losses.

I get that Iowa State is legit. And I like how you listed the games in order of impressiveness.

But how is playing and beating a less than stellar opponent a demerit? Not playing anyone is more impressive than playing someone? I ask because at various points in time, the rankings have included teams that have played no games at all, and those who have suffered inferior losses.

Iowa comes to mind.

Suggestion: Your list includes UL twice, so I tweaked it to exclude the UL result in the record to gauge the opponent, with the UL result listed in the W/L.

Just noticed on ESPN top 25 game scores list that they are now only listing the CFP rank. Coastal is now 20 with us not even being listed in the top 25. WTF.

My prediction if we win out, no Sunbelt school will be in the final top 25 list.

If we win out, I am confident we will be in CFP top 25.
The real beauty of this conversation is that since I arrived in Lafayette in 1982, and became a Cajun Fanatic, I always dreamed of the day we would break the top 25. Heck I was proud to get even 1 vote once in a blue moon.
Now we are complaining about how HIGH we are ranked.

You’re right, but I think we break all the important final polls if we win out. Still the CFP is the only one that’s getting significant coverage now.

I get why the biased schills at espn use cfp but are all other outlets going to from now on as well? Or just use whichever we arent in?

It should but 0-8 (now 0-9) is a negative equalizer.

They will fail to observe that 70 is 2 scores higher than anyone put on them this year, or that the starters were pulled in the 3rd.
