I knew Michael was special after he nailed a late big three against the Hilltoppers to help us win a big game in 1992, his first year here. Moving on to this year's team, Au was a second team JUCO All American. Someone told me that Sydney Grider was the last JUCO All American we signed. He had a nice career here as one of the best pure shooters we have ever had. Prior to the pandemic Sydney was still playing recreational ball in the area and his shot was still a weapon. If Au can have a career like Sydney did here, we likely will be pleased. I was also told his basketball IQ is high as he has been well coached throughout his HS and JUCO career.
You know somebody has an ancient media guide showing Mike Allen personal college history biography. That would tell us his path.
Exactly. That's what concerns me. I can understand a guy leaving on his own accord to try to get more time. It's when we are bringing guys in and then a year later pretty much kicking them to the curb because we realize they were not as talented as we thought or we took them because we had no other options. Doesn't speak well to our recruiting prowess.
Brock Morris replaced Kevin Johnson as recruiting coordinator. KJ left for Tulane. Coach Morris arrived late in the 2019 recruiting season. He brought over Dou Gueye and Durey Cadwell his first year. Dou did improve at the end of the year while Cadwell has been injured in his time here. This past period Coach Morris brought in Awkuba, Butts, Richards, and Au. Coach Josten Crow was the lead guy on Gordon and I think also on recently signed Joe Charles.
