Q: History of Top-25 matchups

Is this the first time as a top 25 program the Cajuns play another top 25 program? When they were ranked in the 40's, did they play another ranked team then?

So this might be a first and another record set.

This will be a first.

In 1943 the Randolf Field Ramblers should have been highly ranked and in 1944 they were.

They had a 9–1–1 record, with their only loss coming at the hands of Louisiana.

They played Texas to a 7–7 tie in the 1944 Cotton Bowl.

Arkansas Montecello should have been ranked as well.

Every school not tied in to the V-12 program was playing without all their upper classmen from the year before. Basically junior college talent, yet the media gave them the same respect they always had.

Last I saw, they were one spot behind us. That could have changed since I've been out of commission for the past 5 days.

The Chants are high up in the "others getting votes" in the AP and Coaches polls, but that's all I've seen.

For starters, they might be a bit travel fatigued. Not sure why, but their charter flight is landing at MSY instead of LFT, arriving at 7:00pm tonight. They might not hit their hotel until well after 10:00.
