Makes sense. They should at least have to play a game before being eligible to get ranked. The poll is no longer a preseason poll. The season has started, they just chose to declare ahead of time that they did not intend on participating.

because the AP has gotten their pre-season poll correct soooo many times.... about four in last 40 years last i checked and one of those vacated

Stagnation alone hurts a team, which is why Napier tried so hard to move games up.

those that didnt play were at least honest and didnt practice during the shut down.... however some got away wih constantly moving their start date, yet being allowed extra practices, come every year at bowl season we are told the practices are often more important than the bowl....think of the even greater adv, these stolen “extended pre season” practices will be worth
