_ While I believe that there are some things that would draw Billy Kennedy here, I'm of the opinion that it would be more to his benefit to explore the higher paying jobs to which he is being linked. I see UL as more of a destination job for him than a journey, meaning this would be his last job rather than a stepping stone to something bigger. He's too young to make this his last stop. Now, if these bigger jobs don't materialize, then we start to look better to him and we have a shot at him.
Since Tim Floyd has already interviewed here and has impressed the committee, I think the only thing standing in his way is this situation with USC & the NCAA. If he's cleared, then it should only be a matter of dotting the Is and crossing the Ts to bring him here. For those of you who want him here, you better start praying the NCAA announces their decision soon. _

_ Would someone please explain to me or give me their opinion as to Why hasn't Butch Pierre been a Head Coach in any Division. It would seem to me he knows he needs some Head Coaching experience to be a head coach at a Mid Level university. I personally like the idea of concentrating on getting a Coach with Head Coaching experience. Hasn't this guy been around college basketball 20 + years and no Head Coaching experience. If he is such a good recruiter, to me that would be a A+ for a head coaching job.

This is the question that the university would like to know the answer to. This is the major barrier to hiring a Butch Pierre. Of course, there's a lot more that goes into running a program than just recruiting. Truly, nobody here knows the answer to that question but there has to be a logical reason as to why he's been passed up for quite a while.

They also think Floyd is going to take a job back on the west coast. Butch Pierre was at the bottom of the list because of a lack of head coaching experience. To me, If they would just give Pierre a chance, I bet he would wow us all. Thats just my opinion though _

I don't think he lied so much as is keeping his options open. If he really wants to stay in Louisiana then UL would without a doubt be the best job for him. we'll find out in the next month or two what his decision is

And why would all other universities have agreed with us? As was stated, we are not the only university to have decided to hire someone else over Butch.

At some point we need to get over this Dr. A thing.

We don't need to ask the question of why we didn't hire him, but rather, why no other university has hired him yet as well. It's not just us but it has become a trend in his 20+ years coaching.
