Boise State's basketball team isn't going to win a NC. If they do, I'll lay naked on the corner of Johnston St. and Guilbeau, next to the guys in the statue of liberty costumes, with a sign around my neck that says SlappyCajun owns me.
Yeah, I mean I'm pretty good looking so I can see why you're so excited.
There was a note in the SI online version that Johnson may want to go to Boise State because it is his alma mater. Personally, I don't see them hiring him or he wanting to go there at this stage. Now Floyd could come here and jump to LSU in a couple of years if Johnson does not turn it around. That would be OK with me as it would me Floyd was successful here.
I truly want to see Tim Floyd here. Assuming that the allegations are cleared, we NEED this guy here. He can coach, he can certainly recruit and he's a national name that can possibly recruit across the nation...Period. He has baggage but sooner rather than later, a school like UL will have to take a chance on somebody and let them do what they do. I really don't think Kennedy will come here. I would love for that to happen as well but I just don't see it as a feasible opportunity for him. He's crazy, though, to think that he can't win here compared to Murray St. BTW, take out conference for a second, and look at his two name wins this season. It's abysmal. They need to try scheduling some opponents first. Anyhow, he can coach and he'd make a statement. Lastly, Floyd would make a serious splash and certainly drive some enthusiasm and curiosity back into this program heading into next year. It could be a great thing for both sides.
While I believe that there are some things that would draw Billy Kennedy here, I'm of the opinion that it would be more to his benefit to explore the higher paying jobs to which he is being linked. I see UL as more of a destination job for him than a journey, meaning this would be his last job rather than a stepping stone to something bigger. He's too young to make this his last stop. Now, if these bigger jobs don't materialize, then we start to look better to him and we have a shot at him.
Since Tim Floyd has already interviewed here and has impressed the committee, I think the only thing standing in his way is this situation with USC & the NCAA. If he's cleared, then it should only be a matter of dotting the Is and crossing the Ts to bring him here. For those of you who want him here, you better start praying the NCAA announces their decision soon.
I don't think Tim Floyd will be here, and more and more Im thinking we will be heartbroken where he ends up.
