On March 10, 2010, at approximately 2:30 am, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to a residence near the intersection of Paris Street and Downing Street. According to the male and female victim, they were standing on their carport when two black males approached them. The suspects produced handguns and then demanded money from the victims. Both victims were then assaulted and the two suspects then burglarized the residence. The victims were forced into their own vehicle by the suspects and driven around the city for approximately 30 minutes. The suspects then abandoned the vehicle with the victims inside at an apartment complex on West Congress Street. The victims suffered only minor injuries during the incident.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspects to contact the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
