They caved. I'm sure the initial thought was..."We're the Big 10...they can't football with us." Now that just leaves the PACTIFA-12 out in the cold.

They won't be playing long with these standards.

    #2 and 3 would kill a team.
#3 alone: 5 team members on 100 man roster, shuts down the team....

They’re sure the SEC and the rest won’t get to the championship. But just in case they want an opportunity to get in.

does this mean all those who transferred because their school didnt have a team have to go back? did they ever figure out if they were immediately eligible or not

Not a good look. I had a feeling, I'm sure some of you did too, that the remaining conferences just had to weather the storm of the PAC12/B1G/MAC etc. postponements. If you made it past that, college football had a shot. And look where we are now. We're playing with no signs of stopping and some that jumped ship are asking to come back aboard.

Were the conferences that closed down shop wrong and the SEC/Sun Belt etc. right? Who knows? We may never know. It may not be a question of right or wrong. I think it's more of a question of what's right for the conferences and member universities based on the professional medical advice they have and the controls they can put into place.

You won't avoid COVID. But can you manage it? The majority of the schools still playing are, with some exceptions.

No doubt the B1G saw what was going on with other schools playing right now and had a ton of outside pressure.

I guess the MAC/MWC/PAC 12 are on their own island. The MWC and PAC 12 I can still see as being out, but would it even be worth it for the MAC to come back?

true or false: doing so gets big ten teams ranked and us pushed back out of polls?

I don’t think we’re getting pushed out unless we fail to win out. It’s up to us now.

That's a so the players & coaches want to play, but we run the reservation rule book. Signed, The Socialists People's Party of Education.

Maybe people are beginning to come to the senses. I think you try and play the games you can play without putting anyone in harms way of the virus. The Big 10 with all its resources never should have given up. They're doing the right thing now by trying. This was a case of taking on more risk by doing nothing instead of trying. Hopefully basketball avoids all this drama of will they or won't they play the games. Just try, take the needed precautions, play all the games possible.

The Big 10 decided they wanted a piece of the action only for the MWC and PAC 12 trying to jump back in right behind. How convenient.

It is going to be an odd year, win out and it could happen this year. Teams are going to be down players week in and week out.
