its not often that you can go on the road, leave points on the field and walk out with a win, the defense played lights out, the d line was getting great pushes and moving the qb and they blanketed the receivers all day

The minute we started attacking their receivers and stopped giving them so much cushion, we dominated on defense. Impressive.

Lewis needs to keep the ball more often to keep the defense guessing. Lewis could easily pick up 12-15 yards per run. Again, if he kept more often, it would open up the lanes for the running backs. When will we ever learn? Is this a coach choice or a Lewis choice?

I found myself saying this a bunch today too. I don't think these are option plays though, I think they are planned handoffs but he does need to keep that ball a bit more.

COVID is the great equalizer. No crowds, just a scrimmage atmosphere. It is up to the head coach to have his team ready to play. Obviously CBN had our guys ready to go, ISU...goodness knows. I've never seen a coach quit on his team.

The fact is they had a lot of quit in them & UL didn't. Athletically, it looked like the two teams talent wise could almost fit in the same phone booth. But UL hung in there until the clock struck noon which is as early as any college team should be playing football. Then they stuck their feet on the gas & ran away with the game.

I said this earlier, it’s been an unprecedented offseason with no spring practice and tons of distractions. It looks as though Napier had the guys more focused and motivated than Iowa State. The 2 turnovers and special teams TDs were the difference in this game. Other than that it was pretty a pretty even and uneventful affair.
