Evangeline Parish - Thomas sentenced for attempted second-degree murder
Ville Platte’s Brian Keith Thomas, 31, was sentenced to 40 years at hard labor on attempted second-degree murder charges but will be serving 80 years after District Judge John Larry Vidrine said he would serve this sentence consecutively to the first sentence of 40 years at hard labor he received in December 2009 in another, unrelated case.
Thursday, March 11, Judge Vidrine sentenced Thomas to 40 years at hard labor for the second-degree murder charge and 12 years at hard labor for possession of a weapon by a felon.
