Thread: Ragin' Cajuns Plan Supply Drive for McNeese State and Surrounding Communities

Went thru part of McNeese's campus yesterday on way to Cameron Parish. The new basketball arena is opened up on the east side. Baseball was in the middle of installing new turf. McNeese Street east off Common is down to one lane in places, power poles snapped. There is a resturant on the NE corner of Common and McNeese. Can tell you it was a fast food joint but which one don't know; the siding is stripped off the building, and of course the sign is gone. Going to be a long haul, don't see McNeese having classes any time soon. Basketball, they'll be road warriors if they play, Burton being used as a major staging area.

Students living on campus were told they would advise when they could come collect their belongings and it would probably be about a week. So I think you are correct. They will be lucky if they don't have to totally scrap the whole Fall semester.

I've also heard the Diocese has agreed to take in some of the St. Louis High School kids from L.C. into the Lafayette schools. In particular a number of seniors from St. Louis may be attending STM.

In the abstract they’re still a fun target, but the reality is very heartbreaking.

I’m sure it will be those from the Art and Debate class.

Keep your canned tuna Little Dickie! I’m sure you like the smell anyway. McNeese will be fine, enjoy your protests

Saw the train cars blown over (south of airport, east side of crossing), homes and businesses that obvoiusly got hit by tornados, stuff we've seen before. For us, the difference between compassion and suffering for Lafayette was 50-60 miles. Could you imagine a hurricane on top of this other drama in Lafayette going on now?

I can wait a year or so before I start kicking them again. Zem has some photos on his blog, someone ran a drone over the athletic damage.
