While all involved with the UL football program eagerly await word what the finalized 2020 football schedule will look like after four opponents opted out of the original slate, the one addition has at least one player smiling.

With all the conferences bowing out this season, will the national champ be a "yeah they are national champs, but if they had played......"
I mean this should be the year if ever the national champ should be a true playoff system. All conferences that will play this year should be eligible for a shot at the final game. I can only imagine there will be less bowls this year for post season play.
Plus with most conferences not playing out of their conference, how can a legitimate ranking be done. Considering this is a "special" year for NCAA football, then the NCAA should create a special finish to the season. Just saying.
Geaux Cajuns.
This entire year rates an asterisk. Agree, conference champs ought to auto qualify. Assuming there will be bowl games there's not enough FBS teams to fill all the slots. Could look like some of the Louisiana high schools making the playoffs with only 2 wins! Actually believe we'll see a substantial number of bowls take a pass.
Any asterisk should mean how much of a challenge this season will be for players and coaches navigating through the pandemic. This season alone for all teams playing will be one of the most challenging seasons. So the asterisk should be a reminder of how difficult these kids and coaches worked for those championships.
Don't disagree with any of this. They work hard every year and only time will tell us if they made the right decision to play or not. I won't fault either decision. However, without a full season of NCAA teams, there will be some that say the team that wins the national championship this year did so but would have probably not even been in the playoff system under normal circumstances.
Man, you guys are talking about playoffs and bowls. I don't think you're going to see either.
Shoot, if teams just get through the season it'll be nothing short of a miracle.
The Ragin’ Cajuns are three weeks away from their season opener against the Iowa State Cyclones.
This matchup definitely adds to the Cajuns’ strength of schedule, as Billy Napier will be on the road in Ames, Iowa
