Thread: 2020 Season Opener

  1. UL Football 2020 Season Opener

For the Ragin Cajun Football team practices continues on a normal track, as normal as possible, these days.

Ragin Cajun Football Head Coach Billy Napier is doing his best to keep the team on a routine that will benefit them once the games are played. Napier says not being on the field for earlier practices, may be a hurdle to overcome, but, it’s one his team is clearing.

  2. UL Football Opponents View: Louisiana will be competitive

If Iowa State fans are expecting something similar on Sept. 12 to what happened the last time a football team from Louisiana came to Ames ... forget it.

If you’re thinking Brock Purdy will score six touchdowns while running and passing for 510 yards ... congratulations on being so positive during an otherwise negative environment.

Yes I agree. I like the kudos but I guess the writer did not see the score from the ULmost game last year. If they only had a kicker . . . .

Man this year sucks. In any other year we'd be getting close to or more than $1 million for this trip. $350,000? Man, that's closer to basketball payouts. At least we were able to fill the spot and I look forward to watching that game.

Right. I do recall that game was very close. Probably comparing their pre-game thoughts!

I don't know but our payout to go play Missouri this year was over $1 million.

  10. UL Football Billy Napier isn't currently planning for Sept. 5 season opener, but hasn't given up on it

This week is another change for UL Ragin’ Cajuns football team.

School started Monday and therefore practice time with the players is reduced to 20 hours a week.

Consequently, the focus in practice sessions is changing as well.

  11. UL Football Cajuns excited about opportunity to challenge Iowa State in season opener

While all involved with the UL football program eagerly await word what the finalized 2020 football schedule will look like after four opponents opted out of the original slate, the one addition has at least one player smiling.

UL Football Will this season have an asterik by it?

With all the conferences bowing out this season, will the national champ be a "yeah they are national champs, but if they had played......"

I mean this should be the year if ever the national champ should be a true playoff system. All conferences that will play this year should be eligible for a shot at the final game. I can only imagine there will be less bowls this year for post season play.

Plus with most conferences not playing out of their conference, how can a legitimate ranking be done. Considering this is a "special" year for NCAA football, then the NCAA should create a special finish to the season. Just saying.

    Geaux Cajuns.
