So it looks like the Mac and Big 10 will cancel the 2020 football season. But what if a players decides they want to play and other conferences, either P5 or G5, are still going through with their season, can the player transfer?

If the conference shuts down the season, the players in this instance would not have a say so on their season. As it goes right now, if the conference says we are playing, a player can opt out of the season with no repercussions (at least I think no repercussions).

So could they transfer to another college that is playing this year?

Play the same 2020 year. This is not like a normal transfer so the circumstances should be different.

Universities promote "Student-Athlete" to make sure no one refers to them as "Professional-Athletes" and bring the money question into play.
