Reading rumblings on Twitter that College Football may move from Fall to Spring
MAC announced today they are moving to the Spring. First FBS league to do so. Tougher to do that in the south due to the popularity of the diamond sports. No such concern for a league with most of it's schools in Ohio and Michigan. That is not to say that the spring move could not happen. 8 of 13 of the FCS leagues are moving to the spring. Plan is to have a championship playoff at that time. If the SLC continues with their plan to play this fall, their teams would probably not be eligible to play in those. Everything is in flux right now.
Does Middle Tennessee still have Nov. 21st open??
Two things are a factor in my opinion. One congress would need to pass immunity for the virus. Without this, it cost universities more millions than they are bringing in. The other factor is to crush the movement for college athletes to get paid.
Moving to Spring is the only option at this point. There is no stopping the fear machine from steam rolling everyone until November 4th. NFL is our only chance of football in any form until after the election.
Well Wednesday should be the day when we find out our other opponent. This can’t go on much longer.
In a recent article from Foote I believe, Napier stated he's confident we're playing this fall but not as confident that we'll start on September 5th. I think he's expecting a delay. We'll see.
