USA Today re-ranked the Top 25 with just the schools that will be playing football this fall.

LSU is at No. 7, and the Ragin’ Cajuns come in at No. 22.

is this the lowest the defending champs have ever been? plus they dropped from sixth when taking out some of the teams, lol

A lot of defending champs have come back poorly ranked.

Historically they are often senior laden which enabled them to win it all.

I realize some teams win it all with little loss of players.

I'm more excited at how Louisiana is coming back ranked after a historic 11 win season.

Bill Connelly at ESPN Uses “S+” ranking he created several years ago and had both UL and AppSt in top 30’- further claiming Sun Belt is plying at the “MWC” level.

After upsetting ranked Iowa State 31-14 in its 2020 season opener Saturday in Ames, Iowa, UL is now ranked No. 21 in the Amway Coaches Top 25 Poll.
