Thread: 2020: Louisiana's Run Through the Rankings

  1. Default Re: AP Poll: #19 Louisiana

We’re ranked nationally and no asterisk period. The teams that chose to give up their seats at the table won’t matter won’t be remembered a decade from now. Let’s stay ranked all year long while two P5 conferences hope that the Wuhan makes them appear wise instead of foolish.

UL Football Should the Cajuns be ranked #1

    I'm buying his logic.

Now we really need Iowa State to not panic and still have a good season.

Great article. Here is a guy who gets "it".

It will be intersting to see what shakes out this season and the long term ramifications to college sports in general.

  6. Default ESPN 1420 One Sportswriter Thinks UL Football Should Be Ranked Number One

Wow!..the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns have certainly gotten the attention of the college football world, and the people who cover it.

  7. Default WE'RE #3

According to the Dan Lebatard show this morning, we're ranked #3 in their BCS (of course, that's Billy, Chris and Stugotz poll) but hey, we'll take it

    Yeah you right!

Enjoy it while we can and pray we hold the L column to zero. When the SEC comes on line, and the Big 10 later, it will become harder to hang onto rankings in any poll.

No matter what, there will be an asterisk on this season.

We have the opportunity to use this season as a springboard for years to come. It's right now. The #19 Louisiana Ragin Cajuns are already one of the big stories the sports world is following. We can't let it slip. If we (UL) can fulfill what this team is capable of, then it's not going to matter if the season is an asterisk, the stage is set for the Cajuns to burst on the national scene. We don't want to be a one year wonder, asterisk or not.

We have to take care of the things we can control. A positive is that Saturday's game, the game after that and the game after that are all on ESPN2 or ESPN. The two Saturday games are at 11 am and if we win those, we once again own national highlights. Win and the talk about us continues.

What are your thoughts on a 45-14 victory? Can we do it?

  14. Default Re: WE'RE #3

Right now I’m just looking for a win by any score.

We've received more brand name 'Louisiana' coverage this week by national football writers than ever before. Its been fun. Keep winning to lock it in. Also keep winning, we'll have opportunity to remain in Top 25 regardless of Big10 and SEC. And I'm becoming a fan of Iowa St. to start winning their games!
