Nothing wrong with fans expecting more respect from outside. Absolutely doesn’t mean they’re at all disappointed with the teams effort.

I think everyone is "enjoy being 3-0 and 2-0 in the SBC with a 10 day break to get healthy."
This topic is external. I don't think this falls under being happy or not happy. It isn't complaining about the team or not complaining about the team.
Its about inaccurate perception playing out before our eyes.
It is about treating the polls like a preseason poll, 4 weeks into the season.
Why?
Because if they rank the preconceived now, and they lose they get to stay in the polls. If they make them actually produce a win before getting ranked, the preconceived that lose (before getting ranked) would never sniff the polls. They can't allow that.
This is about witnessing protectionism.
It has nothing to do with being happy or not happy about Louisiana.
3-0! Geaux Cajuns

Now that the 126 FCS teams have been re-ranked based on their current status, below is how the SBC and CUSA stack up. The SBC continues to seperate itself from CUSA. When comparing the two Conferences, the SBC has 3 of the top 4 teams and CUSA has 5 of the bottom 6 teams (Not to mention they also have maybe the only FCS team to just quit on the season in Old Dominion).
This is how they stack up:
26 - Louisiana (SBC)
28 - Marshall (CUSA)
38 - Arkansas State (SBC)
41 - Appalachian State (SBC)
49 - UAB (CUSA)
50 - LA Tech (CUSA)
71 - FAU (CUSA)
72 - Georgia Southern (SBC)
74 - Troy (SBC)
86 - UTSA (CUSA)
88 - Coastal Carolina (SBC)
96 - Texas State (SBC)
99 - FIU (CUSA)
100 - Georgia State (SBC)
101 - Charlotte (CUSA)
105 - UTEP (CUSA)
109 - South Alabama (SBC)
110 - Rice (CUSA)
112 - Western Kentucky (CUSA)
113 - North Texas (CUSA)
124 - MTSU (CUSA)
125 - USM (CUSA)
126 - ULM (SBC)
N/A - Old Dominion (CUSA-Quit)
It's nice to be on the top of the stack.
That's it. UL had to earn their right to be in the top 25. The P5 teams that won't even play for a month got a free pass because if they didn't and UL continues to win and climb the polls before the PAC12 and Big10 actually play, they would have a harder time to justify dropping us completely to make room for them. Can you imagine if we got to #15 or #16 by October then they placed the other P5 teams in after they start playing, how could they justify us getting knocked out? They'd rather do it now than later.
Edit: On another note on a personal opinion. If you're not in the Top 25, they don't talk about you as much on TV and print. Who gets most of the pub? Top 25. I can think that you can make an argument it limits your exposure and perception in the eyes of recruits. How much? I don't know. Maybe someone else better qualified than me can say.
When you are in the Top 25, it is huge.
You are covered on game day.
You are covered on ESPN and other sports networks covering college football at every break.
As we were playing a top 25 team in week one, we experienced three weekends of that type of exposure. More importantly, because of the short schedule in weeks 1 and 2 there was even more exposure.
Your game and NAME is on the score ticker all day long on EVERY game that is being televised.
That exposure is unbelievable on a national stage.
Just curious, not trying to argue, just want some open discussion.
Would everyone be okay it it was a TOP 50? Or some other number? When I was growing up it was a top 20.
While I agree that should be a stated goal because it represents about the top 40% (did not do the exact math) of college football, expanding the list to the TOP 50 give G5 schools a chance, or would they just put more M5 schools on the list.
Again, I am just curious about other people's thoughts.
