Thread: time to talk football

    Default time to talk football

Lets get away from the gloom and doom and start talking about the upcoming season. Ideas on first game or prediction of wins this season, lets keep it light and fun

Don't know who we'll be playing first and not knowing our OOC games makes it difficult to predict wins for the season but I am excited for what we can accomplish. I think we have the best blend of offense/defense/ST of anybody in conference if injuries and distractions can stay at a minimum.

Offense = We are pretty much covered at QB and RB for sure. We have a lot of experience coming back on an OL that lost some good ones but I think we'll see some guys step up and play well. I'm slightly concerned about WR just because of the lack of experience. Losing Bradley hurts. Not sure who will step up and take his place.

Defense = Experience and depth returning. This may be the best group of Linebackers we've ever had here. I'm a little worried at CB just because we lost Jacquet but I think Pedescleaux can possibly step in there. Just gotta keep Manac and Dillon healthy. Should be fun.

Last year there was a once in a lifetime 1-2-3 punch at running back. Hopefully we can be just as effective with a 1-2 punch. Ragas and Michell

I am hoping that we will still have a game but with JBE extending the Phase II restrictions 3 more weeks, I am getting pessimistic about it. If it gets extended after that what happens with football with the restrictions on gatherings.

If we do, you guys are going to beat the crap out of us. With our complete change of coaching staff, no spring workouts to learn the new offensive and defensive schemes and all the restrictions on workouts now and probably in the preseason workouts, the Cowboys are going to be a little lost as a team. And, from what I saw of the Cajuns last season, you were damned good and will probably be again this season.

Still, I want the game to be played and hopefully I am allowed to photograph it no matter how ugly it will look. I am in bad need of photographing some sports.

    Doc,
The way things have been going, if we play any kind of football, it will look good!

Got to have faith. At least it gives us something to look forward to.

We will have a third punch at RB. Chris Smith has speed and potential to come close if not filling the shoes of Calais. And we have him 3 more years.

If Chris Smith performs at all like last year, that 3-headed monster in the backfield will alive and well!!

I hope we get to play this season since it only happens every few years and it’s not scheduled again at this time.

Normally it would be a nice crowd but this year not likely to be the case obviously

It is very unfortunate that this great team is getting caught up in the unfortunate results from this virus.
