Lafayette, LA - The Louisiana IceGators return to the ice after having a week off to take on the Huntsville Havoc. This game is crucial to the playoff future of the IceGators. Currently the IceGators are nine points behind Columbus for the final playoff spot.
Louisiana has played six games against the Havoc. Each team is 3-2-1 against the other with two more meetings left this season.

The IceGators won the last meeting with the Havoc 5-4 in overtime. Daryl Moore and C.J.Tozzo scored two goals to lead the 'Gators against the Havoc. The IceGators are coming off of a lose to the league leading Mississippi Surge 3-0. The 'Gators struggled early, falling behind 2-0 in the first period. Mississippi added a goal in the second period. Louisiana has struggled this season with the power play killing but that was not the case this game when the 'Gators had a 100% power play kill.

When head coach Dave MacIsaac was asked about the game against Huntsville he said, "Huntsville is a very good team. We need this win. We have to take advantage of power plays and any mistakes that the Havoc make and we have to minimize or cut out ours." The 'Gators are going up against a difficult task facing the league leading goalie Mark Sibbald (HUN). He has won 14 games this season with the best goals against average in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) at 2.45. Sibbald has only given up 48 goals for the entire season.
