Maybe they had to protect the Car Show and Mardi Gras.

This is correct, there's no way in hell that Bass Pro will be investing in a site like that. Why would they over saturate the market, especially when retail is tanking? Bass Pro already in Denham less than an hour away. Then you have another one at LA boardwalk development in Bossier City, next to Casinos.

We know you would not understand. Lafayette is NOT Ruston.

Not because he is a Marxist, he just happens to fall in line with and support Marxist causes.

My opinion is that he doesn't want athletics to take precedent over academics. So he shot it down. Imagine moving forward with this and it would be 100% complete prior to football being brought back after this Scamdemic.

No, because he was unwilling to sign a 25 year lease and delayed meeting with the developers. He told all parties he wanted to think on it. He is not interested in moving athletics forward any further than we have grown today. He fears losing control of his athletic program. Just for the record, this took place several years back and has nothing to do with our current economic status as a country.

    You would be wrong.

But y’all fracking rednecks have been right about us being a laughingstock. Our university administration has crushed athletic advancement for decades.

    Lose control how?

If this news is several years old than that makes me feel a tad better...but still extremely upset for the lack of foresight.

Eh just another example of “USL’ing” a huge opportunity to advance the university and community.

Think of it this way. If we could build say.....a Wal Mart...inside of the Cajun Field parking lot to where athletics gets a share of the profits. That might be equivalent to a P5 TV contract.

Nah, we will just let the open space collect tumble weeds.

I don't feel better at all. He failed to at least meet with a group of major developers with contacts with large retailers. They already have a number of large developments around the country. If you aren't willing to meet with people and at least hear their offer in person, and look at is being offered, how can you make the best decision for your university? He lacks the vision we need to move forward and he is undercutting his AD today. His fund raising apparatus has been basically cut off at the knees because of his recent stupidity and comments. He's not listening to the people he hired as consultants, he's listening to the same old cronies that have been in his circle for years.

Car show produces $12k for the university while Mardi Gras produces around $8k.

    Apparently, we are a charity.

Spot on...when is his time as University President up for review? I’m so angry right now!
