The time Blake was here he made a play almost every game that made you shake your head. He is the measure for every ss that will come through here.. and most do not come close.
What I like the most about him is that he sprinted to his position every single inning. Not jog,, not walk,, but a full out sprint. Also he is true to his faith. There are some you tube videos of his fielding gems while in pro ball..

Unfortunately hitting is 90% of what mlb looks for

I've said this before my uncle was a pro scout and he always said we can teach you to catch but hitting is on you

Yup: SS, CF and C used to be positions that defense could override hitting, those days are gone, especially in MLB.

Saw this post on a story about him retiring:

Blake Trahan is one of my favorite minor league players of all time. I was a visiting equipment manager in AA when he was with Pensacola. I would have to load/unload the bus by myself. If I was lucky players would grab a bag on their way to the locker room, but even that was rare. When Pensacola came to town Blake would go back and forth to the locker room until the bus was completely empty. He was literally the only player to ever do that for me. On top of making my job easier he also tipped generously and was always down to chat

All the best for BT. I know he’ll land on his feet but I also read there he was going to get some chances with the big league club this year.

I doubt he is worried where his next meal will come from, he may have been presented with another professional opportunity. I can’t imagine he would have trouble finding employment. His salary last year was $555k

Not a bad way to clear half a mil. I didn’t realize it was that much. Wonder if they’ll end up being in the area. Pretty sure he’s got that hitting academy right?

He has probably made almost 3 million including signing bonus in his career if I had to guess. I think he does have something to do with a hitting academy and being a former big leaguer I’m sure can do quite well with that.

I find that hard to believe, was he on the big league roster the whole year in 2019? 555k sounds like big league money
