However, between now and next season there will be far more articles on the elite of the elite reams, and this article's pigeonholing gives them an excuse to either footnote, or out right exclude Louisiana from those discussions.

Louisiana is one of the best teams in ALL of softball.

When last season was cut short, Louisiana had the #1 RPI in the Country.

Segregating Louisiana into mid major status creates an unnecessary recruiting hurdle that the rest of the elite teams will use against you.

Agree with you. They also didn't do their homework very well. When discussing the pitching, there was no mention of Summer at all.

Mid major is not a reference to the quality of a sports program, it is a reference to the conference affiliation. Moving to the AAC or creating a new conference would not change the reference.

Any coach or administrator that uses the mid-major tag as an excuse in recruiting, scheduling or results is weak (see UL basketball).

Our softball team is the BEST mid major program in the nation and one of the best in all of D1. I am very proud of both.
