Nice interview.
Lots of service to Louisiana Mr Walker, a life dedicated to good broadcasting.
Thank you. I loved my years in music radio and appreciate Andrew Clay reaching out. That was a lot of fun.
Good stuff
A very nice body of work ...and not done yet.
Great job Jay.
Thanks, Jay. Great memories. I actually remember you and Ray from back in the day at K94. And I remember writing about Chris “Aircraft” Carrier when he was at Eunice High. I did some halftime interviews with guys at the Eunice station when I was covering that beat, but I don’t think it was you. Also... You did not mention it in the interview, but at one time KSMB was in Northgate Mall, wasn’t it?
1991? Really?
I don’t know if it was across from Orange Julius, but I am pretty sure it was K94
KSMB was located in the Northgate Mall at one time.
In 1976 they moved to the old FNB Towers. They started using K94 exclusively with the switch to Album Oriented Rock in 1977. In 1981 they moved into their current location on Galbert Road.
KROCK was a different station. It was at 107.9 and changed call letter to KHXT when they became a hip hop station.
