In 1982, Elway's 24 touchdown passes were the most of any college quarterback in the nation. The previous year, he had nine home runs and 41 RBI — not to mention a .361 batting average — as an outfielder on the baseball team. He was selected by the New York Yankees as the last pick in the second round of the draft, and Elway played on the Yankees' minor league team before his infamous NFL career.

    From ESPN:

With the last pick of the second round in the 1981 draft, the New York Yankees selected Stanford outfielder John Elway and gave him a $140,000 bonus -- more than No. 1 overall pick Mike Moore received that year. Six picks later, the San Diego Padres selected another college outfielder: future Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn.

Ok,maybe it was 3rd in college? I'm to lazy to look it up, lol.

The superiority complex with your fan base is staggering and hilarious. No need to get so defensive lol.

We beat La Tech for a recruit. Big whoop. You’re not a P5.

One of their golfers was on Twitter a few weeks ago claiming that they had a richer softball history than us.

I didn’t realize being 0-14 against someone is a prerequisite for superiority.

The level of delusion is impressive. I guess that's what happens when you beat a mediocre Bama in football 30 years ago.

But so did the Hoax, as Bama won the national championship the next season.

They did have a solid softball program a while back. They made the WCWS in 83, 85, and 86. They also made the NCAA tournament every year from 83-89. It was spotty after that with appearances in 95, 08, 17, and 19. All those early years were as members of the Southland although they don't list that on the wiki site. They were a better program than us for about a 10 year span as Yvette was building the program until the early 90's. After that, not so much.

Their basketball team hasn’t made the NCAA Tournament since songs like “99 Red Balloons” were hitting the Top 40 airwaves. Their softball team is 0-fer against us. And their baseball team is known to be regular season juggernauts only to have their season end early after being spanked in their conference tournament. Women’s basketball over there has become what Nebraska football is today.....irrelevant.

Outside of football, that program is average at best. Even the trash talking golfer played on a team that finished 9th in CUSA. Again.....poo poo.
