    Looks like these teams post negotiated with players to sign for less then they indicated at the time of draft pick.

    Yeah the more they could save, the more they could offer to FA's since there were only the 5 rounds this year. And I think the money, even lower than slot, is more tempting than normal due to unknowns for college ball next year

    There was a $20K cap for any FA signing

    That together with the lack of other employment opportunities when they get out of college.

    Also, when you can get a 6th rounder as a free agent at $20,000, do you sign a 5th rounder at slot? Probably not.
