Smart move to stick to his number.

Slot is $353,700. Good move by Cantrelle to sign.

Just saw where Brandon Young signed with the Orioles. Didn’t expect to lose him after going undrafted. Wish him the best.

Same. I think the coaching staff expected him back as well.

Good luck Mr. Young. Represent us well.

I would tend to agree. Every guy reacts/adjusts differently as they progress, but it's hard not to compare Cantrelle and BT. And if BT could just barely scratch the show but found a home in AAA for the bulk of his time, it'll be tough for Cantrelle to top that in my opinion.

Cantrelle hit for power better than BT, but (even throwing out the start of 2020), BT had a higher OBP and AVG. In the field, I'd say BT was a generational fielder for us. Cantrelle, while very good in the field wasn't quite to BT's level.

Again, each guy adjusts differently as they progress and Cantrelle could very well hit better than BT did in the pros. That's what he'll need to carry him further than BT (a AAA gold glove winner)

Actually it was just the opposite. They knew he was going to sign if he didn't get drafted. Coach told me that before the draft.
