A New Iberia man is being held without bond for allegedly trying to kill his girlfriend's two grandchildren by poisoning their milk. Harrison Jones (left) is also accused of using gunpowder and a light bulb to try and create an explosive device.
It all started Wednesday, when the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office responded to an aggravated battery complaint at the 900 block of Hebu Lane, New Iberia. Deputies spoke to the initial caller who advised that a Harrison Jones, her boyfriend, had placed gunpowder in a light bulb and screwed it into a lamp with the intentions of it exploding. She also stated that Jones had struck her 13 year old son with a baseball bat. The thirteen year old male sustained injuries to his forehead as a result of the blow.
