They aren’t a g5. I don’t think they’re eligible for that spot. It’s the highest ranked g5 conference champion

I heard a commentator during their bowl claim they “may have” been playing in Cincy s place had they gone undefeated.
I am not sure if he was correct or not.

If the choice is SBC vs Ind: I am 50/50.
If the choice is Ind vs AAC, obviously AAC.

so if a conference is 2-0 and not allowed to win bowl challenge cup bc minimum is three, does it reason that if they are 0 and 2 or 0 and 1, that they should be taken out of the standings as well and not listed as being in last place

BYU could not play in Cincy‘s place cause they are not a G5 champion. This stuff has been beat to death. If BYU were to be in a NY6 bowl game it would be cause of them getting an at-large bid. Even if they got an at-large bid, Cincy would still have been the G5 rep in the peach bowl.
