SMU backed out of the bowl because of COVID issues. Left UTSA with no bowl opponent so UTSA moved to the First Responders Bowl. SMU fell apart at the end of the year so they didn't want to risk a loss vs UTSA. Frisco Bowl could find no teams to fill their bowl date so they cancelled the bowl.

Maybe the yellow ROSE of TX bowl this year....

Being the name has yellow in it, good place for CCU.

thanks, great update.i was going to say odd they cant just use the tie-ins and selection pecking order to choose another team, but was the game still scheduled for yesterday had it not been cancelled? yikes that is shortest of short notice

It was cancelled on Dec 15.
They tried to find opponents but not enough time because the bowl was scheduled to be played on Dec 19. Many teams were playing championship and makeup games yesterday.

The New Mexico bowl is in Texas.

The Fenway Bowl moves to Montgomery. (Replaced)

The Rose Bowl is not played in the Rose Bowl but in....Texas.

About 10 bowl games opted out and in a season where everyone is eligible, many say thanks but no thanks.

I say put TXST in a bowl.
