Thread: Cal's Jacobi Gordon Commits to Louisiana MBB

Is this transfer going to have to sit out a year?

I'm glad we are getting some really solid transfers. But none of it matters unless we A) stay healthy (which is something beyond anyone's control) or B) create a presence from the bench players (too much inconsistency and recent turnovers of transferring out) or C) make some noise in the conference tournament (win more than one game in the darn thing).

Fourth domino was APR violations and multiple program reboots and excuse after excuse to keep Lee.

Unfortunately the multiple reboots have become more common under Marlin.
The info here is not quite accurate.

Nelson Schexnayder, not David Walker, hired Cyprien and Lee.

Just like Akwuba and Butts he would require a waiver to play next season. It is a wait and see at this point. As mentioned earlier the staff is hopeful on the other 2.

Injuries and congenital illness aren’t totally random. The Big Fish has brought players with known health and injury issues. I’m not talking about players like Kobe who became injured after signing his scholarship.

Same thing happened with Cedric Russell. Foot injuries became a problem after he got here.

Maybe now that we don't have the swamp for them to trip on cypress trees we will stay healthy!

Cedric has had foot issues since he has been here. He did not have those prior to arriving. I don't recall ANYONE disputing that. He often plays through injuries which is why he has had trouble with consistency. This past season he seemed to play much better on Thursday's than Saturday's. Probably because he had more rest prior to Thursday games. As far as the new commitment, I noticed the university has not had an official release as of yet. I don't know why that is but it may be due to having to tell someone their scholarship won't be renewed before they officially bring Gordon on board. In his case, I wonder if he is completely healthy now. Someone asked if he would be eligible for immediate play. I have no idea if he would have a case to apply for a waiver.

  10. UL Basketball Cal transfer Gordon commits to Marlin's Ragin' Cajuns

The 6-foot-7, 216-pound small forward played two seasons at the Pac-12 program, averaging 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in 24 games as a freshman in 2018-19 and 2.2 points and 1.2 boards in 8.9 minutes over 12 during an injury-hampered 2019-20 sophomore season.
