I just took cajunmike to point out that a change in recruiting leaders had been made going into this season. Coach Marlin is ultimately responsible, but, of course this new coach influence's impact will be felt on the court.
All the coaches are involved in recruiting. One guy took more of a lead role than in the past this period. The virus situation may have impacted that approach. I don't expect that to continue as significantly going forward. I did not expect my original statement to create this much discussion. No problem there as we do have little to talk about these days. Hopefully that changes soon.
Including next year, I believe so.
I’m not a Big Fish fan, he’s never delivered. Still almost all coaches look for strong assist coaches whose best coaching ability is recruiting. Often they come with a player or two to get their collegiate foothold.
Some head coaches best asset is an ability to assemble an outstanding staff.
Marlin and almost every coach in America is going to get a pass this year. Buy out money except at the P-5 elites will be scarce this upcoming sports year.
It’s time for a healthy year and no on court excuses.
I’m sure all the media and coaching contracts going forward will have all kind of “Acts of God” clauses compared to today’s.
