The stay away edict started with David Walker and Scott Farmer.

Before that we had dozens of parents, many players and at least one coach contribute on RP.

None ever told me they were sorry they did.

Unfortunately the online world has gotten a lot more toxic since then.

Perhaps DW saw the horizon.

Everybody should be on RP. Each adds their own little flavor. How else will one have a great Cajun blend.

I personally like it when identifiable parents of student-athletes comment on certain threads. I think that they are in a position to sometimes provide a perspective outside of that which a normal fan might have.

Yes a guy like John(Summer dad) adds a different look because he is basically in the know and he also was a great coach himself. I would say John know's more about the game of softball than 99% of the people on here including myself. I value John's feedback alot.

Hey Roarman, is Jenna able to play right away or will she have to sit? I would think Coach Candrea would release her due to Denham and Creighton going there with out the Cajuns making them sit.

John I have no issue with you or anyone on this board. But there is some people that get mad for no reason. And there is nobody on this current thread that I am talking about. I am just saying as a general rule most parents and players shouldn't folow message board unless they have tough skin. There is some brutal stuff on this board at times. I like your feedback so I have no reason to block you.

I agree with this view. I would add coaches and their families should also avoid visiting here. Nothing to be gained by them doing so. Their time is better spent in trying to improve as individuals and as a team. I don't see how spending time on fan message boards contributes to that goal. I also understand Turbine's point that the environment we live in today is what makes things this way. Of course the university can't stop a parent of an athlete from participating here. They are after all, a private citizen. I do know that many players do visit here but do not post due to university guidance. Same goes for athletic department employees and family members
