Everyone is looking for speed. Might this kid be used for base running and defense? Gray is a slapper who never bats.

Speed makes catchers nervous. Can lead to pass balls. Which makes them more nervous. Paraphrase Mel Didier.

It's possible but it definitely wasnt high on his priorities list a few days ago. With that being said he is after one more transfer but this isn't who he mentioned. Who knows things could have changed.

    That is correct.

The rules have certainly changed the slap game in the last few years, but to say high level teams are de-emphasizing slappers may be a stretch. In the 2019 WCWS, 6 of the 8 teams had at least one slapper the lineup. If Glasco can have a kid on his roster that can impact a game like Keeli Milligan, trust me she will be in the lineup. In the postseason when you may have to win a 1-0 game to advance, and home runs can be a little more difficult to come by against elite pitching, speed can be the difference. No guarantees here, what I said is that his next move COULD be a slapper from Arizona.

If we get a slapper it will be more of a power slap kid then a touch and go slapper.

Who are we looking at then slapper wise? I know power wise we are after the John's kid.

I don't know if it works the same in softball (I suspect it does) but in football when every team moves away from a certain philosophy, the team who picks it up often has an edge.

The rule also changed after the 2019 wcws, slappers are a dying bred.

This has risen to a level of genetics?

As of the now the slapper from Arizona says she will remain a student there. Not sure that we will bring in a kid who has only 1 at bat in 2 years.

Maybe that isn’t the same slapper That you have seen in the porrtal? Maybe it’s a different slapper.
