It's a common expression. Don't think its considered some form of racial slur.

Until I read this thread, I had no idea that a Gypsy was a race or nationality. Even so, one of the definitions states someone without a permanent home and gives an example of a carnival worker!

But in this day and age, I guess we shouldn’t be surprised to know that there’s now another group of victims or people to be offended over something. SMH
