i don't care about stars. I care about him becoming a star.

Pretty sure this is what happened with Richards. Something I read today said the ESPN rating went from 4 stars to 2 stars right after he committed to FIU. Mylik Wilson is another great example, 247 had him ranked #97 nationally and #1 in Louisiana at one time. He fell all the way to #337 and #3 in the state after signing here.
Malik played like a four star. This guy does the same thing and we will all be happy. Did a little more research and found that he did start at Taylor Academy in Metairie. Once that school closed, he transferred to Sprinfield Academy. That school had a 30 and 7 record this past season.
To be a star you must have command of all four limbs and your brain. All 5-points need to be,in the game.

Granted this situation makes every piece of news attract more comments than normally. In that regard, here are some prep school stats for Richards. Averaged 12.5 ppg, 11 rpg, and 2.5 blocks per game. Rebounds number is especially encouraging. Prep school competition In the video I reviewed appears to be at a higher level than HS play. In HS his team won two NY city championships. Therefore he may be more prepared to contribute as a freshman than most guys. Notice I said may. Not making any predictions. You never know how hard they will work or fit into team chemistry until they get here.
He will never get injured at Louisiana.
Not with IR for initials.
Understand that. However I am humbled after being somewhat wrong about Jalen Johnson. While he did some good things for us he did not turn out to be the player I predicted. Some of that was knowing how well he shot the ball in practice during his redshirt year. Making a high percentage of shots covers a lot of other sins. Not sure why that shot making ability did not translate to real play. Therefore I need to be careful in predicting how much of a contribution players will make before arriving here. There is some good news in men’s basketball today. Jalen Johnson is graduating today along with Mason Aucoin and PJ Hardy. Congratulations to all three.
