It’s pretty unusual to issue a verbal commitment to a football program without even visiting the campus.
But in these unprecedented times, Ridgeland High of Mississippi quarterback Zy McDonald decided he didn’t want to wait.

A year ago at this time, this headline would have been cause for a lot of you to start panicking.
Now, most think this is a good thing.
Levi's improvement as the season progressed is why some think it's a "good thing". Going into the season, there was ample evidence for concern, but the young man worked hard on his game and I think Billy figured out a few things on play calling for Levi. I was most impressed with his ability to hit crossing routes with accuracy and zip. Not so easy throwing over the middle for any QB, especially a shortish one.
I will say that the conference championship game, there were 3 plays where you could say it was on LL that hurt our chance to win that game. Yes, other players can point to a missed block or assignment as well, but he didn't play his best game that day and we needed his best to win. But even at that point, you could see improvement in his next game, the bowl game in Mobile. If he can pick it up from that game, we are off to the races!
3 things make Levi an effective QB.
His intelligence. His leadership. His scrambling ability. There have been many QB's come through this university who were better passers, but because Levi excels so much in the above 3 qualities, he ends up more successful than nearly all of them.
Which explains why we post and others coach
I was and am a believer in LL. I surely didn't think he would lead us to 11 win last season. I felt he would be good and improved, but didn't expect that big of a jump. If he improves over last season, 2020 will be very, very special.
