I think AU was the player Coach Morris was referring to in his radio interview. Seems like a very good signing when you look at who else was interested. I know nothing about a transfer from Pacific.

The only player from Pacific in the transfer portal is Amari McCray a 6’9” forward who is originally from Ruston. I have no idea if he is even on the radar.

I looked at more information about Au including how his JUCO team did. His first year they were 31 and 4 while they were 28 and 3 this past season. That encourages me as much as anything as he is used to winning. I looked at box scores of a few of his games. Seems to be a versatile player as some games he had points in the teens or 20’s. In games he did not score as much he either had a high number of assists or rebounds. Although he played HS ball in El Paso, it appears he is originally from Mexico. Would not be surprised if this guy starts when season begins. The three guys coming off knee injuries may have something to say about that of course. However their injuries do make their ability to contribute a question mark going into next season while Au is healthy as far as we know.

They have the added advantage of natural social distancing. The campus could already move into stage 3.

    What position does Au play?

he is listed as a shooting guard. So will probably play a 2. Not sure if he can play the point or not.

I think those rankings were before the JUCO season began. Au was a second team JUCO All American. You can interpret that as being in the Top 10 for his play this past year.

Plan is for him to be a wing player, meaning mostly strong guard or small forward.

That’s Russell’s position. I suppose could be Hardy who is getting that senior year if he wants it.

Hardy is done, no extra year for basketball. You can think of freshman signee Michael Thomas as the Hardy replacement, just a little more leaning to the PG side of the combo guard label.
