The NCAA will approve the one time transfer rule without penalty in June. Only question is does it go into effect immediately or a year from now. Many basketball folks believe it will go into effect immediately. If it is delayed one year there is a chance he gets a Waiver. I don’t know the details of that possibility but I have heard that is an option. Turns out the few days announcement guess I gave you guys in a different thread turned out to be a few hours. I imagine Coach Morris will talk about him some in tomorrow's interview with Steve Peloquin. That is scheduled for 10:20 AM on ESPN 1420.

Go look at his stats before you get excited. It's not good. Not sure how much he will even contribute tbh.

The NCAA is debating a one time only year for all athletes that want to transfer for all sports because of the events of spring sports and the pandemic. The NCAA would return to the standard of transfers and waivers beginning next sports season, unless they are Grad students.

Was thinking the same thing, only averaged 13 mins 4.1 points, 3.6 rebounds for a pretty bad Portland team. For reference Portland was 1-15 in WCC play and finished 275 in net rankings, one spot lower than Troy who was the lowest Sun Belt team.

Plans are for him to contribute on the defensive end mostly. That is why his stats were not impressive. Difficult to see how big men contribute defensively other than blocked shots. Many times they alter shots into misses which don't reflect the contribution in stats. Offense is a ? mark although I have been told he can finish around the rim. Despite the game moving to the three point line for all positions, I don't see him doing that. More of an old school post player which often has a hard time finding the right spot in college basketball today. I bet his free throw shooting is an improvement need as well as his perimeter shot. He simply needs to take few of those and to pass the ball out when it goes into the post. From what I understand, plans are for him to be the first big off the bench. If he has high energy, he can spark the team along with Trajan Wesley who often provides a spark as well.

Some people on staff have told me they expect the one term transfer without penalty rule change to be permanent. Big 10 is pushing it. That was the case before the pandemic outbreak. Things may have changed since then.
