Wow, this is some really good news for the Cajuns, with Dalton, Ellyson and Rawls back.
Still waiting to hear from:
Sarah Hudek
Kaitlyn Alderink
Megan Kleist (doubt she is coming back)
Alaina Guarino
Morgan Gray
do they have to announce? is there some kind of deadline?
respectfully disagree....someone might choose no, now, if pressed to commit.. but then change mind. seems either they are eligible or they arent....hopefully they arent allowed to transfer, but i have no problem with them deciding day of first game or later...whatever normal “postseason roster deadline” equivalent the ncaa has.....aren't players put off team for various suspensions, then allowed to rejoin late in season without a deadline
You can always transfer, but my understanding is with a senior whose career was extended by this ruling they could transfer but any scholarship money they would receive would come out of the standard 12 scholarship limit at the new school. In other words, if you stay at your current school your scholarship doesn't count against the schools 12 scholarships as some of those was already promised to high school seniors who had signed earlier. You just have to come up with the money to cover those costs internally.
The difficulty with the new school is you would have to fit the new scholarship money into your existing recipients and incoming freshman signee's which could be tough. On top of that most of the P5 schools have guaranteed scholarships, so you can't remove a scholarship player without cause and that cause can't be related to athletic performance.
I hope that makes sense.
Great news! All 3 players are certainly game changers in their own way. Summer in the circle just makes you breath a sigh of relief.
K. Alderink is back. Yeah...
