I really didn’t expect Kleist to stay another year. Was hoping she would, but figured she would move on. She was already on her 5th year, and for her to stay a 6th would mean putting off the rest of her life another year.
Let’s face it, pro Softball isn’t exactly a career path even for the best of the best of D1 players, which of course she is. It doesn’t draw the fanbase and revenues, and therefore salaries, of pro baseball.
Very happy to hear Summer is staying. Her ties to always having been here might play into that, vs some other players who were from other parts of the country maybe choosing to move on. Who knows, just a thought. I could be completely wrong.
I hope Sarah Hudek stays for another season. She has been a big leader on our team. Funny that just a few short years ago, she was a pitcher for a CC baseball team.
