P.s. and a moot point..... But what did last year count as for kleist anyway? Can you be a redshirt at a different school, or did it count as sitting out per transfer regs( even though sitting out not reqd in softball?)
If someone had already burned their redshirt could one in that situation still have made the same move?
Knowing big organizations I’m betting table til June. Does Vegas have an online line on this.
OK. I just assumed she just didn't play a year as I think she played her first three years at Oregon, sat out her fourth to graduate, and transferred to UL. Since you have 5 to play four and she was a graduate transfer she could go anywhere she wanted I just assumed she didn't need to use the red shirt as she would be immediately eligible anyway. Thanks
Thanks..so bottom line if someone else was in same situation but had already redshirted is it safe to say they couldnt have done it?
Good question. My guess would still be playable, as in that case you were still graduating in four years but had redshirted one of them, you would still have one year of eligibility under the 5 to play four and could play immediately as a graduate transfer.
I Kliest's case she decided to sit out and complete her degree at Oregon and transfer after that. I don't know the reason for that but would guess it could have been academic reasons (classes didn't transfer or something like that) so it was easier to just finish and then start graduate school. Again, lots of assumptions, and the NCAA rules are long and usually don't always make sense.
