Thread: 'Tons of emotion' as Cajuns navigate 'uncharted waters'

  1. UL Softball 'Tons of emotion' as Cajuns navigate 'uncharted waters'

UL opening Sun Belt Conference baseball play against Coastal Carolina on M.L. “Tigue” Field at Russo Park. The Ragin’ Cajuns playing softball around the corner against Appalachian State on Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park. Spring football practice across the way.

The Saturday that was to have been never did not materialize, all because of the Sun Belt Conference’s response to the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic now sweeping the country.

I still hurt for softball. To KNOW you have the goods to beat anyone and everyone and then get shut down...I don’t have a word for how that must feel. I only know my disappointment in having cancelled my WCWS trip and not being to enjoy the journey with them. I was not going to miss this one.

There may be a scenario where much of this team is intact next spring, but we have the upper hand RIGHT NOW. I don’t expect that to be true in a scenario where everybody is loaded because of eligibility waivers.
