I would suggest that until a kid walks onto the field and faces live D 1 pitching in a real D1 game, we really do not know if he can hit. We have several kids on this team that put up similar numbers in Juco and probably in Intersquads in the fall and have not shown it here in real games, yet.
Ill live and die with high school kids that come to a D1 program and learn to figure it out despite struggling right off. They almost always figure it out. And you have 3-4 years with those kids. The problem is when you start missing on kids the juco route is SUPPOSE to be the quick fix. But like Robe always said...they go backwards before they go forward. Problem is their time frame is short.
In many cases, Deggs takes attitude over talent. Don’t confuse the player with the guy. They are not the same thing.
With all due respect, how can you possibly know that? Guys that hit in high school, the fall at a D1, or at a JUCO doesn’t mean a thing when it comes to hitting in actual D1 games.
There are thousands of examples. I’m not saying this kid cant...but its impossible to say he can until he has.
If a kid can hit at his respective level, you can say with 100% clarity "The kid can hit."
That statement is not a projection.
