Louisiana used a seven-run fifth inning to push them past Rice, 11-2, on Tuesday night at Reckling Park.

The Ragin' Cajuns' 11 runs and 13 hits were both season highs. The performance marked the first time Louisiana plated double-digit runs since May 19, 2019, against ULM.

Louisiana started the scoring first on a Brennan Breaux single to left field. Rice responded later in the first after plating a run off Carter Robinson with two deep doubles to center field.

Robinson settled down after the first inning, finishing the game with six innings pitched, one earned run and seven strikeouts.

The Ragin' Cajuns exploded for a seven-run fifth inning, highlighted by three-straight RBI singles to left field by Breaux, Sebastian Toro and Tremaine Spears. Breaux finished the game 3-for-5 with three RBI.

Louisiana also used two errors to plate three runs, pushing the lead to 8-1 after the top of the fifth inning.

After the big inning, Louisiana added three more runs with the help of an RBI single to right field by Hayden Cantrelle to go ahead 11-1.

The Ragin' Cajuns pitching was dominant all night. After Robinson exited, Luke Cronan and Brock Batty notched scoreless appearances, while Jeff Wilson pitched the ninth to seal the 11-2 victory.
