.....If Coastal keeps it staff, coaches from all over the country will be paying them visits to ask about their offensive looks....I fell in love with it in their first game and now they are tweaking and adding with the talent of an in placed QB!!!

That's how you beat a team like Ga St. when you are ranked.

Iowa State kept Kansas winless 52-22

All I know for a fact we gave a win opportunity away with a self inflicted penalty that ultimately did us in. I suppose we’re going to have to beat them in their place. But we’ve gotta quit all the foolishness we witnessed tonight.

Against Coastal, Ragas was rationed the ball a measly 10 times for 77 yards.

If he had been given the ball a modest 14 times, Louisiana would be undefeated regardless of the 3rd down penalty and regardless of the Interception

That’s pure speculation. We have no idea how additional carries would have gone. I’ve seen games where he is getting almost no yards in multiple carries, then a huge run to create a big average per carry, but the typical carry not at all impressive.

What we do know is that UL lost the game as much or more than Coastal won the game. That’s on the players and coaching staff. Unwarranted personal fouls, late hits, holding penalties that have nothing to do with the success of the play.

Of course its speculation, as if that is a bad thing.

Louisiana is 5-0 the last two years when Ragas runs the ball 14 times or more.

You have to go back to a season when the QB position was ending drives with 14 interceptions for his 14 carry days to be unfruitful.

Ragas running (even with a 3.5 yard average) keeps the ball out of the opponents hands. 14 carries or more against Coastal and Louisiana wins. Zero doubt, pure speculation, grounded speculation.

When Ragas does not run the ball "14 times or more" it is probably because of something that the coaches see in opposing teams defense. To say we would have beat Coastal if Ragas would have ran the ball more is probably a naïve statement that does not take into account the other many factors involved.

Disclaimer: I am not a coach, which is why I try not to act like I am.

There is nothing wrong with being speculative, sports by its very nature is speculative. Being speculative does not say you think you know more than the coach.

When coaches draw up a play in practice, it's speculative.

When coaches call a play on the sidelines its speculative.

To suggest a different route is speculative.

The only thing that isn't speculative is the actual outcome.

To speculate on what would work better is what sports is all about.

They play for the fans, for fans to speculate is 100% in their domain.
