Two people died this morning as the result of a two vehicle crash in Calcasieu Parish. A 1998 GMC pickup driven by Raymond Armentor, 47, of Sulphur, was traveling west on U.S. 90 east of Vinton, crossed the center line, and collided head on with a 1994 Chevrolet van driven by Brian Holland, 47, of Sulphur. Holland, as well as a passenger in the pickup, Rebecca Pago Leboeuf, 47, of Sulphur, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. Both of the deceased were pronounced dead at the scene by the Calcasieu Parish Coroner's Office. Armentor sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital. Armentor and Leboeuf were wearing seat belts, Holland was not.
Impaired driving on the part of Armentor is suspected to be a factor in the crash. An arrest warrant is pending for Armentor who will be charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, second offense DWI, and driving left of center. A toxicology sample has been submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab and the crash remains under investigation.
This is the fifth fatality crash investigated by Louisiana State Police Troop D this year.
