Thread: Louisiana vs Sam Houston G3

Looked like the majority of the team played with a little more fire in Saturday and Sunday than the previous 10 games. The one thing that concerns me is the lack of hustle shown by a few players. Errant throw by the catcher on a stolen base was basically walked after, allowing the baserunner to easily reach 3rd. Just blows my mind. We have a CF who is operating on basically one leg and you can tell he's giving everything he has. Thank goodness for our pitchers, catcher, and the handful of guys who are playing unselfish ball. Looking forward to Tuesday.

Offense seems to be trending up, but man, 1 homer in 3 weeks is brutal. Tough to get crooked numbers without home runs. Hell, Nick Gonzalez at NMSU hit 5 homers by himself on Saturday

NMSU plays on a par 3 launch pad

Many places had huge winds blowing out this weekend. That with maybe 320 on the lines makes for lots of HR's that are usually easy outs.

    Last 9 games....

    We're 4-5

    Outscored 39-41

This season is being looked at through the looking glass of the opening weekend. I think the entire program was in a fog that weekend for many good reasons. Since then, we've basically been a 0.500 ball club. Did anybody really expect something else?

As Turbine has shown, Deggs is a complete rebuild guy with respect to hitting, and as we all know, this was always a massive rebuild situation we had here.

I think as the weather warms up, the hitting will as well. This team will be spittin' nails come SBC tourney time. Just a hunch.

It is something I've noticed at times as well and can be frustrating, but hopefully just a couple of fluke plays. The play you mentioned definitely was one. We got caught napping on getting balls back into the infield twice allowing opponent to take an extra base. Didnt run out a popped up bunt which dropped and got thrown out. Couple of little annoying things like that.

He should be back hitting by next weekend.
My guess was maybe a hook of the hamate fracture based on the hand and how it was wrapped. Figure if he's coming back soon than it's not that, which is good news.

Nowhere to go but up. Seemngly reversal of fortunes between us and ULM.

Shockingly bad offensive stats, though. I consider this the Deggs baseline measurement.

Let’s hold judgement until the end of the season. Deggs has zero players who were recruited in fall 2018 & spring 2019. ULM coach has been there a couple years. I mean most here won’t let anything not positive said about Marlin. Pre season, early season end of season and heaven forbid post season. Yup Bob is pimped in all those areas. Let’s give Deggs a couple years before panicking.
